Jack Lombardi and
Mike Boeve were named Academic All-League Monday, the league announced. It's a first-time honor for both players.
Lombardi boasts a 3.81 GPA as a business administration major. Lombardi was second on the team hitting .297 over 54 games. He totaled 60 hits, including 13 doubles, two triples, and two homers. Lombardi added 22 runs, 30 RBI, and eight stolen bases.
The Park Ridge native ranked 10th in the league with 60 hits. He put together a 14-game hitting streak spanning from April 22 through May 14. He notched at least two hits in 14 games, including a season-high four hits in a win at Kansas on April 12.
Boeve joins Lombardi on the Academic All-League team with a 3.67 GPA as a business administration major. Boeve was named Central All-Region Second Team earlier this week. He was tabbed the Summit League Player of the Year and collected First Team honors in May.
Boeve led the Mavericks at the plate hitting .364. He totaled 78 hits, including 23 doubles and eight homers. Boeve strung together a 29-game hitting streak spanning from April 3 to May 21. In eight of those games, he tallied at least two hits.
Often a leader for the Mavericks, Boeve also found himself at the top of the league and ranked nationally in several categories. His 20 doubles currently ranks 20th in the nation. He's 27th in the NCAA with a .491 on-base percentage. Boeve also cracked into the top-100 with a .364 batting average.
