Apr 25, 2022

OMAHA, Neb. - Head men's basketball coach Chris Crutchfield announced the signing of his first recruit, Jaeden Marshall. Marshall is a transfer out of Bossier Parish Community College in Shreveport, Louisiana where he played one season.

"We really think highly of Jaeden," said Crutchfield. "He will bring a level of skill and athleticism to our program right away. Jaeden is a big, strong guard that has the ability to hit the three and attack the basket. We are excited to coach him for the next three years."

Marshall was the team's leading scorer last season and was named one of the top-50 junior college first-year players in the country.. He averaged a team-leading 15.4 points per game helping his team to a 16-14 finish. Marshall also led the team with 63 three-pointers shooting nearly 40 percent from deep last year. He closed the season with a three-pointer made in 23 consecutive games. He made at least two in 19 of those games.

"I chose Omaha because I felt it was the best fit for me because Coach Crutchfield and his staff made me feel like I was family from day one," said Marshall. "The people I met at Omaha were amazing. They treated me as if I was already a student there. They were great and very helpful, and they all seemed like great people. The campus was beautiful, and I fell in love after seeing it for the first time. Seeing the campus and meeting the people on top of an amazing basketball staff, it was a no brainer for me."

Marshall scored a career-high 34 points on Feb. 2 vs. Tyler Junior College. He was 13-of-25 from the field with four made threes. The freshman guard made seven threes earlier in the season against Blinn. He finished that game with 28 points. He also netted 28 points in a 109-101 victory over Kilgore on Jan. 29.

"Jaeden go off to a slow start, but he finished the season as one of the top scorers in our league," said Bossier Parish head coach J.A. Anglin. "He battled adversity early in the season and never quit. Jaeden made big shots for us in the biggest games this season. We are looking forward to following his career at Omaha."

Before starting his career at Bossier Parish, Marshall has a successful high school campaign. He was a letterwinner at Richmond Hill under head coach Bill Henderson in Richmond Hill, Georgia. Marshall was a two-time All-State Third Team selection, a two-time All-Area First Team honoree, and a two-time All-Region selection. Marshall was also tabbed the Region Player of the Year during his time at Richmond Hill.
