The Mavericks and Ospreys were knotted at 3-3 before the final match wrapped up.
Matt Carroll's 6-3, 6-4 win over
Todd Chen allowed North Florida to escaped with a 4-3 victory.
Hugo Piles Ballester and
Victor Sklenka posted singles wins for the Mavericks in the Nos. 4 and 5 positions, and Omaha claimed the doubles points with a pair of close victories to open the day.
After Chen and Sklenka dropped a close set at No. 3 doubles, Piles and
Ethan Henry won by the same 6-4 score at No. 2 doubles.
Mikhail Korkunov and
Matt Hulme won 7-5 at No. 1 doubles to clinch the point.
North Florida bounced back to take a 3-1 lead by taking the first three singles matches to finish. Omaha rallied, however, when Sklenka and then Piles won in straight sets to even the match as Chen played on.
All six singles matches at the UNF Tennis Complex were decided in straight sets.
