Omaha, NE – The Omaha Mavericks fell 61-56 to the St. Thomas Tommies Saturday afternoon at Baxter Arena. Omaha ends the 2021-22 season at 7-19 and 3-14 in the Summit League, the Mavericks will not qualify for the Summit League Tournament.

Senior
Josie Filer led the Mavericks in scoring in her final game in an Omaha uniform, she scored 11 points to go along with her four rebounds.
Natalie Bartle joined her in double digits with 10 points.
Mariah Murdie,
Alexis Pratt and
Elena Pilakouta each scored eight for the Mavericks.
Leaders for St. Thomas
Erin Norling led the Tommies with 26 points including two threes andhauled in six rebounds. Three other St. Thomas starters scored in double digits, Jade Hill and Jo Langbehn each scored 11 and Kaia Porter scored 10.
Team Stats
Omaha shot 32.8 (20-61) percent from the field while the Tommies shot at a 45.8 (22-48) percent pace while draining five shots from beyond the arc. The St. Thomas starters outscored the Omaha starters 58-37 and outrebounded the Mavericks 41-29.
Inside the First Quarter
The Tommies started the contest on a 12-3 run including two threes and five points from Norling. The Mavericks would shorten the gap before the second quarter ending the first on a 6-0 run, St. Thomas would take a 19-13 lead into the second.
Inside the Second Quarter
Omaha fought back in the second quarter starting the period on a 13-4 run including six points from
Kennedi Grant and four from
Mariah Murdie. The Tommies stopped the run with a Porter three but the Mavericks would take a 29-28 lead into the break.
Inside the Third Quarter
St. Thomas fought back in the third starting the half on a 12-5 run to take the lead. Filer would score four of the games next six points to tie the game up at 40 with 3:09 left in the period. Buckets from Norling and Hill gave the Tommies a 48-42 lead going into the final period.
Inside the Fourth Quarter
The Mavericks started the final period on a 12-4 run taking a 54-52 lead with just 3:24 remaining. However the Tommies would end the game on a 9-1 run to take the eventual 61-56 win, ending the Mavericks 2021-22 campaign.
