FARGO, N.D. - The Summit League swimming & diving championships came to an end Saturday night. The Mavericks saw six more medals on the day, including a title in the 100 Free from
Kody Hollingsworth.
The Maverick women finished third in the field of six teams, while the men finished fourth out of six.
"What an amazing ride this conference championship has been," said head coach
Todd Samland. "Our mindset was to be competitive and we did just that. We had numerous people come back every night and race the best the Summit League has to offer. We medaled in numerous events, including relays, and crowned another individual champion tonight with Kody winning the 100 Free."
Hollingsworth earned another first-place finish with a time of 44.63 in the 100 Free. It was the only title of the night for Omaha.
In the 100 IM,
Daniel Young and Caroline Garnder earned second and third, respectively. Young swam a time of 50.01, while Gardner posted a time of 58.47.
Luke Asbury picked up his first top-three finish with third in the 200 Back. He swam a time of 1:49.58.
Both the men and women placed in the 400 Free Relay.
Hailey Matthews,
Payton Easley, Annike Harthoorn, and
Parker Hagemann placed third with a time of 3:27.28. Young,
Owen Hoak, Hollingsworth, and
Elijah Clements also earned third with a time of 3:01.05.
