Mavericks Host Pioneers for Senior Night

The Basics
The Mavericks host the Pioneers for their home finale and senior day Thursday night. Tipoff is 7 p.m. at Baxter Arena. Omaha will honor seniors Wanjang Tut and Marco Smith ahead of the game and look to close the home portion of the schedule with a win.

Quick Hits
• Omaha will honor senior players Tut and Smith prior to tipoff Thursday night. It will also mark Omaha's final game of the home schedule. The Mavericks will close the regular season with two games on the road at the end of the month.
• Smith is averaging his best season of his career with the Mavericks. He also leads the team with 20 steals on the year.
• Tut finds himself in the record book for career blocks and has a season on the single season charts.
• The Mavericks are coming off a loss on the road to South Dakota State. Despite and early lead by Omaha, SDSU used a 10-0 offensive outburst to swing the momentum and take an 82-61 win on the night.
Nick Ferrarini led the Mavericks with 14 points off the bench. Darrius Hughes added 11.
Frankie Fidler extended his double-figure scoring streak to three straight games with 10 points vs. the Jackrabbits.
Dylan Brougham became the second Omaha player to tally at least 10 boards in a single game this season. His 10 rebounds vs. SDSU set a new personal best for the sophomore forward. 
• The Mavericks opened the week at home last Thursday with a loss to South Dakota.
• Fidler led all-scorers with 22 points. It marked his third game and second straight with at least 20 points in the contest.
Felix Lemetti added 18 points as the only other Maverick in double-figures.
• Fidler poured in a career-high 37 points at North Dakota two weeks ago nearly helping the Mavericks pull off a win vs. the Fighting Hawks.
• Fidler's 37 points marks the most points scored by a freshman in DI basketball this season. He is also the first Maverick to score at least 30 in a game this year.
• His 37 points is the third most points scored in a single-game in the DI era. It is sixth all-time.
• Fidler is averaging 14.8 points per game in league play, which ranks 12th in the top-25 players.
• Smith was the only other Maverick to notch double-figures. He finished with 11 points on the day.

Scouting the Denver Pioneers
The Pioneers are 9-19 overall and sit seventh in the league standings with a 5-10 record in conference play. Denver dropped their last three games to South Dakota, South Dakota State, and North Dakota State.

KJ Hunt leads the Pioneers scoring 15.5 points er game. He is one of four Denver players averaging at least 10 points a game. Hunt is on a three-game double-figure scoring streak. He notched 19 vs. South Dakota and 13 vs. North Dakota State. He poured in a season-high 32 points vs. North Dakota.

Denver is led by first-year head coach Jeff Wulbrun. Prior to his start with Denver, he served as an associate head coach with the Cardinal at Stanford.

All-Time Against Denver
The all-time series is tied 10-10 after Denver earned a win earlier this season. The Pioneers dominated in a 94-63 win.

Lemetti led Omaha with 12 points, while Smith and Arop added 10 points apiece. Arop also grabbed a team-leading eight rebounds.
