The Basics
The Mavericks and Pioneers tipoff the 2022-23 Summit League action Monday night at Baxter Arena. The game is slated to start at 7:05 p.m. and will air locally by YurView. Both Omaha and Denver are coming off wins last week. The Mavericks dominated Midland, while the Pioneers downed Colorado Christian.

• Omaha returned to Baxter Arena following a seven-game road trip last week. The Mavericks put on a show for the home crowd with a stunning 104-72 win.

• Sutton was 14-of-15 from the field for a 29-point performance. He was the second Maverick this season to surpass 25 points in a game, and it sits eighth on the Summit League single-game highs list for the year.
• Luedtke was 7-of-8 from three-point range for 21 points. It matched his career-high set last season vs. SIUE. His seven three-pointers was just one shy of tying the program's single-game record.
• Fidler added 14 points, six boards, four assists, and two steals.
• White scored 11 points and tied his career-high seven assists.
• Brougham and Jungers each tallied 10 points.
• As a team, the Mavericks set several season-highs. They shot 58.8 percent and scored 104 points for bench marks this year. They also hit 11 three-pointers which was the first time they netted more than six in a game this season.
• Omaha's 104 points is sixth on the league's single-game list. They are the fifth team this year to score over 100 points in a game. Oral Roberts has two games this year with at least 100 points scored.
• Following his 29-point performance, Sutton has taken the lead on Omaha's offense. He is averaging 12.4 ppg, which ranks 13th in the Summit League.
• Sutton is also a the top of the league shooting 54.4 percent from the field. He is shooting over four percent better than the next player.
• Fidler is also in double-figure averages with 11.3 ppg, which is tied for 18th in the league. Fidler also finds himself in the league's top-20 in rebounding. His 5.5 rpg is a team high and ranks 12th overall.
• Omaha's 4,316 fans in attendance vs. Midland set a record for a men's basketball game since moving to Baxter Arena.
• Head coach
Chris Crutchfield has an 14-17 overall coaching record. It marks his second season as a head coach and first with the Mavericks.
Scouting the Denver Pioneers
The Denver Pioneers are 9-3 with one more non-conference game on the slate following Monday's league opener with Omaha. The season opened with back-to-back wins before a close loss to Sacramento State. Denver rebounded with a six-game win streak with dubs vs. Idaho State, IUPUI, The Citadel, New Orleans, Houston Christian, and Texas A&M - Commerce. Sacramento State and No. 19 UCLA then dealt the Pioneers two straight losses before they rebounded with a with vs. Colorado Christian.
Denver's nine wins this season leads the league. The Pioneers are second in the league averaging 78.8 points per game, and they lead the league shooting 53.2 percent from the field.
A whopping six players are averaging double-figures to start the season. The Pioneers are led by Tommy Bruner with 15.8 points per game. He's shooting 42.2 percent from the field and 37.0 percent from three-point range. Bruner is on a six-game double-figure scoring streak, which includes four games with at least 20-points. He scored 26 vs. Sacramento State on Dec. 7. Most recently, Bruner scored 23 on 7-of-12 from the field and 7-of-7 from the line vs. Colorado Christian.
Head coach Jeff Wulbrun is in his second season at the helm. He's compiled a 20-24 record with Denver.
All-Time Against Denver
Omaha holds a one-game advantage in the all-time series, 11-10. The teams split the series last year both using their home court advantage. Fidler scored the final 11 points, including a buzzer beater, to beat the Pioneers at Baxter.
