LINCOLN, Neb. - The Omaha women's swimming & diving program was back in action Friday night. The Mavericks headed down I-80 and took on the Huskers.
Omaha fell, 225-74.
"This was a great team performance from our women before we head into our mid-season meet in a few weeks," said interim head coach
Jessica Hessel. "Each meet I continue to be impressed with their performances. They are improving at such a strong rate. We had some tough racing, race strategy opportunities and some fast times tonight."
The meet opened with a third place finish by
Gracie Streblow,
Annie Leinart,
Annika Harthoorn, and
Parker Hagemann in the 400-Medley Relay with a time of 3:52.39.
Kadence Jeffries and
Heidi Lenarz then took fourth in fifth in the 1000-Free. Jeffries finished with a team-best time of 10:49.76.
In the 200-Free,
Morgan Baker cracked into the top-three with a time of 1:58.13.
Carina Monroe and Leinart took fourth and fifth to round out the top-five in the event.
Hagemann earned a second-place finish in the 100-Back with a time of 59.08. She was just three seconds shy of first.
With a time of 1:06.45,
Caroline Gardner added her name into the mix. She finished third in the 100-Breast, while teammate
Jillian Altmaier took fifth for the Mavericks.
Sadie Khalil, Harthoorn, and
Megan Latta took third through fifth place in the 200-Fly for Omaha. Khalil led the pack with a time of 2:15.65.
In the 50-Free
Olivia Dendinger and
Hailey Matthews finished back-to-back in third and fourth place. Dendinger swam a time of 24.64, while Matthews posted a time of 24.71.
Alaina Agnew wrapped up the top-five with a time of 24.83.
Hagemann continued her success on the day with a fourth-place finish in the 100-Free with a time of 53.77.
Abigail Mitchell swam a time of 2:08.20 in the 200-back to place fifth for Omaha.
Olivia Theil, Monroe, Streblow, and Harthoorn all finished in the top-10.
In the 200-Breast, Leinart led the Omaha squad with a time of 2:22.47 for second place. Dendinger took third, while Jeffries and Lenarz took fourth and fifth, respectively.
Rylee Trojan grabbed another second-place finish for the Mavericks in the 500-Free. She swam a time of 5:18.30. Matthews also took second in the 100-Fly with a time of 57.68 and the 200-IM with a time of 2:09.25.
A team of
Payton Easley, Hagemann,
Rachel Shelstad, and Dendinger used a time of 1:36.58 to earn second in the 200-Free Relay.
In the diving events,
Kady Eller and
Bella Price found success for Omaha. Eller picked up fourth with a score of 222.23 in the 3M-dive. Price placed fifth with a score of 183.38. They both also placed fourth and fifth in the 1M-Dive. Eller scored 203.55 in the event, while Price finished with a score of 190.13.
The Mavericks return to action Dec. 2-4 at the Rochester Invite.
