Mavericks, Roos Set for Saturday Night Lights

LEADING OFF
Omaha heads to Kansas City Saturday for its final road regular season match-up. The Mavericks and Roos will kickoff at 7 p.m. as the battle for second place in the league standings continues. Omaha currently holds the second spot with 12 points, while Denver and Kansas City trail right behind in third with 11 points. The Mavericks won their last match, while the Roos are coming off a draw.

QUICK KICKS
• The Mavericks picked up their largest margin win of the 2022 season earlier this week vs. Lindenwood. Eight different Mavericks recorded a point in the 5-0 shutout.
Theo Klein tallied goals four and five of the season with a team-high four points vs. the Lions.
Tevin Rochester recorded three points on a goal and assist.
Mathis Pilon St-Louis, Tomas Restrepo, and Kenji Mboma Dem recorded two points each. St-Louis and Restrepo's were on goals, while Mboma Dem had two assists.
Joe Vokins recorded an assist for one point. It was his first career assist and point for the Mavericks.
• Restrepo's goal marks his first career goal.
• Mboma Dem scored the game winner vs. the Tommies two weeks ago. It marked his fifth goal of the year. He leads the Mavericks and the Summit League with 16 points following his assist vs. Lindenwood.
• Klein is second on the team with 13 points this year. Klein tallied five of those nine points in the 4-1 win at Southern Indiana. Hs netted the first two goals and assisted on the fourth goal of the match. 
• Only three Summit League players have posted five-point matches this season. Two of those players are Mavericks. Klein with his performance at Southern Indiana, and Mboma Dem vs. Oakland.

SCOUTING THE KANSAS CITY ROOS
The Roos are 5-4-4 overall heading into the weekend with a 3-1-2 record in the league. Earlier this week, Kansas City played its final non-conference match of the season. They played to a draw with Central Arkansas. The Roos are tied with Denver for third in the league standings.

ROOS TO WATCH
  • Christian Koffi leads the Roos with 12 points this season. He's tied for first on the squad with four goals and has a team-best four assists. Koffi recorded an assist in three straight matches earlier this season. He has two three-point performances, and scored goals in back-to-back matches vs. Denver and Eastern Illinois.
  • In goal, Cooper Clark has made 12 starts and 13 appearances. He has 50 saves this season and a 1.58 goals against average. Clark made a career-high 12 saves vs. Tulsa.

SERIES HISTORY
Omaha leads the all-time series 4-3-1. Last season, Dominik Danis netted his first career goal and game-winner in a 2-0 shutout.
