Mavericks Host Lindenwood Lions

LEADING OFF
Omaha returns to its home turf in search of a win vs. Lindenwood in a midweek match-up. The Mavericks and Lions kickoff Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Caniglia Field. Following a loss to Oral Roberts last weekend, Omaha slipped into fourth place in the standings with nine points. Lindenwood is on the cusp of the top-five with six points in fifth place.

LEADING OFF
• The Mavericks are 3-2 in league play following the 1-0 loss at ORU last weekend. Against the Golden Eagles, Gonzalo Cuevas and Tevin Rochester each had three shots in the match.
• Prior to the loss, Omaha won its last two matches vs. St. Thomas and Southern Indiana.
Kenji Mboma Dem scored the game winner vs. the Tommies. It marked his fifth goal of the year. He now leads the Mavericks and the Summit League with 14 points.
Theo Klein is second on the team with nine points this year. Klein tallied five of those nine points in the 4-1 win at Southern Indiana. HE netted the first two goals and assisted on the fourth goal of the match.
• Only three Summit League players have posted five-point matches this season. Two of those players are Mavericks. Klein with his performance at Southern Indiana, and Mboma Dem vs. Oakland.
Lute Lillo Portero has had the starting nod in goal for Omaha the last five matches. He's posted a .60 goals against average and allowed only three goals with 18 saves.

SCOUTING THE LINDENWOOD LIONS
The Lions are 3-8-1 overall, 2-3-0 in league play ahead of Wednesday's meeting. Their first Division I win came on Friday, Sept. 16 vs. Southern Indiana (2-1). Lindenwood has a league win vs. Eastern Illinois, and also captured a second win vs. USI on Oct. 23.

LIONS TO WATCH
• Anis Smajlovic leads the Lions with 11 points this season. He's recorded four goals and three assists.  Smajlovic scored in back-to-back games vs. Kansas City and Oral Roberts. He most recently scored in the 2-0 shutout vs. Southern Indiana last weekend.
• Roland Dearborn has the second most points on the team with six. He scored in the team's first win vs. USI and again vs. Western Illinois. Dearborn assisted twice last week vs. USI.
• In goal, Meldin Sabotic started 12 matches for the Lions so far. He has a 2.17 goals against averaged with 47 saves.
