Mavericks Cap Regular Season with Win vs. ORU

TULSA, Okla. - Omaha earned a win in its final regular season match of the season. Marissa Gohr netted the winner for the Mavericks in the 14th minute of action.

With the win, the Mavericks improve to 5-8-5 overall, 4-2-3 in the league.


How It Happened
  • Reagan Bourgeois and Grace Thede combined for three off-target shots in the first 10 minutes of the match before the Mavericks netted their first goal.
  • Omaha set up for a corner kick at the 12:32 mark. Alyssa Hansen's pass was downed by Regan Zimmers. Marissa Gohr used her right foot to gain control and beat the keeper for the goal.
  • Following the goal, Emilie Erland and Meg Nemnich tried to add to the Maverick lead, but Riefer made both saves.
  • ORU tallied its first shot on goal in the 41st minute with no luck. Omaha took a 1-0 lead into the second half.
  • The Golden Eagles upped their offensive intensity in the second with three shots coming in the first ten minutes. Julia Thasaphong recorded one on goal in the 55th minute.
  • Mia Reedtz Rehde Olesen was challenged four more times in goal before time expired, but she saved all the attempts helping Omaha hold on to a 1-0 win.

  • Gohr's goal was her third of the season. She now leads the Mavericks in goals and points to cap the regular season.
  • Hansen's assist was her first of the year, while Zimmers tallied her second.
