TULSA, Okla. - Omaha men's soccer fell Saturday night to the league leading Oral Roberts squad. The Golden Eagles netted the game winner a little over three minutes into the second half to hand the Mavericks a 1-0 loss.
Omaha falls to 6-5-1 overall, 3-2-0 in the league.
How It Happened
- The first half was evenly matched between the Mavericks and Golden Eagles. Both recorded six total shots with Omaha holding a slight 4-2 edge on goal.
- Two of those four shots on goal came in the first 10 minutes. Kenji Mboma Dem and Sam Pollard had attempts a minute and a half apart.
- Theo Klein was the next to strike in the 24th minute, while Gonzalo Cuevas attacked in the 26th minute for Omaha.
- Felipe Medina countered in the 28th minute for ORU's first shot on goal, but all attempts were saved and the match was 0-0 at the halftime break.
- Action kicked off immediately in the second half with Cuevas' second shot on goal at the 46:12 mark.
- Nearly two minutes later, ORU finally broke through the Maverick defense for a goal. Felipe D'Agostini beat Lute Lillo Portero in goal for a 1-0 lead.
- The Golden Eagles put two more shots on target by the 55th minute trying to add to their lead.
- Tevin Rochester tallied Omaha's final attempt in the 59th minute, while ORU recorded one more before the end of the match. The Golden Eagles went on to win, 1-0.
