Mavericks Seek Win vs. Tommies

LEADING OFF
Omaha returns to Caniglia to take on St. Thomas this Saturday, Oct. 15. The Mavericks look for their first win against the Tommies in the series history. Omaha is coming off a win at Southern Indiana, while St. Thomas played to a draw at Denver last weekend.

QUICK KICKS
• The Mavericks are coming off a season-high four goals scored in a win at Southern Indiana last week. Omaha downed the Screaming Eagles, 4-1, for their fifth win of the season.
Theo Klein finished the match with a career-high five points. He scored the first two goals, including the game-winner, and recorded an assist. 
• For his efforts, Klein was named the TicketSmarter Offensive Peak Performer of the Week which is his first weekly honor.
Kenji Mboma Dem and Tevin Rochester added three points each vs. Southern Indiana. Both scored and recorded an assist.
Luke Smith also assisted in the match.
• Mboma Dem and Mathis Pilon St-Louis are tied third in the Summit League and lead the Mavericks with four goals. Mboma Dem is tied at the top of the league with four assists
• Mboma Dem's 12 points is a team-high and the most in the league by two points.
• As a team, Omaha has 18 goals scored this season, which leads the conference. The Mavericks are two goals shy of matching their season total from 2020 when the squad made the NCAA Tournament. There are five Mavericks with two or more goals this year.
• Tied games will result in a draw following regulation. Overtime will not be played in the regular season.

SCOUTING THE ST. THOMAS TOMMIES
St. Thomas is 2-7-2 overall before kickoff Saturday. The Tommies are undefeated in Summit League play with a 1-0-1 record. Last weekend, UST took league leading Denver down to the wire and the teams played to a 0-0 draw. They have a 2-0 win vs. Eastern Illinois.

TOMMIES TO WATCH
• Jacek Nickowski is tied as the team leader with six points. He has two goals and two assists this season. He scored his first goal of the year vs. UC Riverside. He went on a three-match point streak with a goal vs. Green Bay and an assist vs. Eastern Illinois and Gonzaga.
• Carver Tierney also has six points this season on three goals. He scored vs. UIW, Eastern Illinois, and Gonzaga.
• Tucker Mann has made six started in goal and logged nearly 540 minutes between the posts. He has 28 saves and a 1.50 GAA.

SERIES HISTORY
The Tommies lead the all-time series 1-0 after picking up a win on their home turf vs. the Mavericks last year.
