OMAHA, Neb. - Men's soccer returned to action Saturday afternoon with a home match against No. 13 Denver. The Pioneers snuck out a 1-0 win with a goal in the 68
th minute.
The Mavericks fall to 4-4-1 overall and 1-1-0 in league play.
How It Happened
	- All four of the first half shots on goal came from the Pioneers. Ben Smith had the first attempt 12 minutes, while Trevor Wright and Eli Mereness had two within three minutes of each other midway through the half.
 
	- Stefan DeLeone recorded the final of the first in the 40th minute. Lute Lillo Portero stopped all four and the match remained tied at the half.
 
	- Omaha's first shot on goal came in the 54th minute from Tevin Rochester, while Sam Bassett responded for the Pioneers in the 57th. Both were stopped and the match remained scoreless.
 
	- Ben Smith finally broke through the defense in the 68th minute. Aidan O'Toole passed in to Smith who charged into the box and used one touch to put the goal away high.
 
	- Kenji Mboma Dem made two late attempts in the final three minutes, but both went off target. Denver wins, 1-0.
 
Inside the Box Score
	- Denver led on shots 16-5, 7-1 on goal.
 
	- Mboma Dem had three shots to lead the Mavericks.
 
	- Portero tallied six saves. He falls to 1-1-0 on the year.
