Omaha Wraps Up Weekly Action vs. North Dakota State

The Basics
The Mavericks posted their second straight home win earlier this week vs. North Dakota and look to pick up a third on Saturday vs. North Dakota State. Omaha and SDSU will tipoff at noon at Baxter Arena. A win for either team will put them one game above .500. Both currently sit tied with two other teams for third in the Summit League standings in the early half of league action.

Quick Hits
• The Mavericks combined for a season-high 98 points in their win vs. North Dakota Thursday. Six players led the team with double-figure scoring efforts, which was the first time more than four players put up 10+ points in a game this year.
Frankie Fidler led the way with 16 points on 7-of-9 from the field. He extended his double-digit scoring streak to four straight games.
Felix Lemetti (15), Darrius Hughes (14), Nick Ferrarini (13) Marco Smith (12), and Kyle Luedtke (11) were the remaining five Mavericks to notch at least 10 on the night.
• Smith tallied a career-high seven assists and two steals vs. UND. He also grabbed four boards.
• In conference action, Omaha sits fourth in the league averaging 79.3 ppg. The Mavericks are in the middle of the pack shooting 45.3 percent from the field and 35.8 percent from three.
• The Mavericks have also crashed the boards well in league games and average a second-best 36.5 rpg of the 10 teams.
• Omaha's 13.25 apg average in league play sits atop the charts. Smith is averaging 4.5 apg in the first four games of conference play to lead the entire league, while Lemetti sits tied for sixth with 3.5 apg.
• Omaha dropped a league game to Oral Roberts last week after postponing a game with Kansas City. The game with Kansas City was rescheduled for Monday, Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. on the road.
• Fidler led the Mavericks with 15 points. It marked his third straight game in double-figures and sixth on the season.
• Smith grabbed a career-high 6 rebounds in the game, while Luedtke tallied a personal best four assists.
• Lemetti hit two three-pointers at ORU Saturday night. He sits 54th in the country with 38 three-pointers made this season. He's also in the top-100 shooting 38.4 percent from deep.
• Lemetti also represents the Mavericks on the Summit League leaderboards. Overall, he sits sixth in the league in three-point field goal percentage (.384) and in conference play, Lemetti is ninth shooting 34.4 percent from the arc over four games.
• Head coach Derrin Hansen enters his 17th season at the helm. He has a 251-247 career record leading the Mavericks.
• The 2021-22 season is the 109th overall in program history and the 11th of the Mavericks' Division I era. All-time, the program is 1,205-1,334.

Scouting the North Dakota State Bison
North Dakota State is 9-5 overall and 1-1 in league play heading into Saturday. The Bison took a win vs. the Fighting Hawks to open Summit League action back on Dec. 22. They narrowly dropped their game vs. South Dakota State on the 30th, 90-86. Before the loss, the Bison were on a four-game win streak with wins vs. CSUN, Indiana State, Pacific, and UND.

Rocky Kreuser leads NDSU with 14.0 points per game. He also leads them on the glass with 7.9 rebounds per game, which is second overall across the league. The senior forward has five double-doubles midway through the year. His most recent effort came at Pacific with 24 points and 10 boards.

David Richman is in his eighth season at the helm of the Bison. He's compiled a career record of 145-92.

All-Time Against North Dakota State
North Dakota State leads the all-time record 47-31. The Bison took wins in both meetings last season. Wanjang Tut put up a career-high 31 points in the 71-69 loss, while Devin Evans notched a personal best seven points in game two.
