The Basics
The Mavericks host the Roos for their final Saturday contest at Baxter Arena this season. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. The last time these two teams met, Omaha nearly tied the game at the buzzer to force overtime, but the shot fell short helping Kansas City to a 64-61 win. The Mavericks look to even the series and snap a six-game losing streak in front of their home crowd.

• During this week's games, the Omaha men's basketball staff will participate in Coaches vs. Cancer Suits & Sneakers Week. Coaches across the country will wear suits and sneakers to raise awareness for cancer and the American Cancer Society.
• Omaha nearly pulled off an upset Thursday night vs. Oral Roberts. The game saw four lead changes and two ties, but despite cutting the lead down to nine in the final minutes, The Mavericks fell short, 100-88.
• Five players scored double-figures and were led by
Nick Ferrarini who poured in 20 points off the bench. It marked the second time this season he scored at least 20 in a game.

Darrius Hughes also posted a big performance off the bench with 16 points, while
Felix Lemetti scored 17.
Frankie Fidler added 14 points.

Akol Arop notched his first career double-double with 10 points and a career-high 13 boards. Eight of them were on the offensive glass.
• The Mavericks fell last weekend on the road to Denver, 94-63. They are still on the hunt for their first road win and first win on a Saturday this season.

• Arop's 10 points matched a career-high, while Hughes also tallied a career-high two blocks.
• Lemetti and
Frankie Fidler each scored 11 points at South Dakota to lead the Mavericks. It marked the 10th game in double-figures this season for Fidler. It was his second straight game with at least 10.
• The Mavericks nearly pulled off the upset of the top-seeded SDSU team falling by only nine points. In the first half, Omaha held a 22-17 lead midway through, while several stretches in the second half kept the Mavericks within nine points of the Jackrabbits.
• Five players put up double-figure scoring efforts for the second time this season. Ferrarini led the pack with 17 points off the bench, which was his fourth consecutive game in double-figures.
Kyle Luedtke and Hughes added 16 and 15 points, respectively.
• Of the Omaha starters, Smith scored 14 points, while Fidler added 13. Smith also tallied six assists, which is just one shy of his career high.
• Head coach
Derrin Hansen enters his 17th season at the helm. He has a 251-253 career record leading the Mavericks.

Scouting the Kansas City Roos
The Roos enter Saturday on a four-game win streak and sit 12-8 overall and 5-3 in league play. They currently hold the fourth spot in league standings after earning two wins vs. Denver, one vs. North Dakota, and one vs. North Dakota State.
Evan Gilyard II leads the Roos scoring 14.3 points per game. He's shooting nearly 42 percent from the field and has 40 three-pointers made. Gilyard II is on a six-game double-figure scoring streak, which includes a 30-point performance at North Dakota. He put up another 23 in KC's last win at Denver.
The Roos are coaches by Billy Donlon. He's in his third season at the helm and sits at 39-35. His career spans nine seasons for an overall record of 148-129.
All-Time Against Kansas City
Omaha leads the all-time series 8-6. The Roos narrowly won vs. the Mavericks earlier this month, 64-61.
Three Mavericks scored double-figures off the bench. They were led by Ferrarini with 17 points on 6-of-12 from the field. He also finished with five boards, three assists, two steals, and a block. Luedtke added 11 points, while Hughes recorded 10 in the meeting.
