IRVINE, Calif. - Omaha men's soccer played to a scoreless draw Thursday night breaking a three-game losing streak.
Jeremy Pollard made a season-high five saves between the pipes earning the shutout vs. UC Irvine, 0-0.
With the draw, Omaha is 0-3-1 on the year.
How It Happened
- The first half saw 10 UC Irvine shots, but only two made it on target for the Anteaters. Jeremy Pollard made a diving save high left on a strike from Francesco Montanile at the 24:12 mark. His second save came just three minutes later.
- Stevie Siy recorded both of Omaha's first half attempts. His strike at the 5:56 mark went high left, while the shot at the 7:31 mark went right off the target. The teams were scoreless at the break.
- Inaki Aldao recorded his first Omaha career shot less than three minutes out of the break. He hit the right post at the 47:38 mark.
- Ten minutes into the half, Kelvin Neumetzler forced another UCI shot on goal resulting in a Pollard save. Josh Kenworth and Naz Astwood took shots off target over the next two minutes before Oscar Delgado took a strike low center for an Omaha save. Jake Means tallied the last shot on goal of the half with a little over eight minutes left to play, but the teams would head to overtime tied, 0-0.
- Neither team would take a shot in the first overtime period forcing a second 10 minutes of extra play.
- Mario Anaya sent a shot high of the goal 55 seconds into the second overtime period. Connor Jokerst responded with his first shot of the night that missed just wide to the left of the net. The Anteaters managed one more shot before time expired the Mavericks got a body on it to block it. The match ended in a 0-0 draw.
