Rosario Named Summit League Player of the Week

Rosario Named Summit League Player of the Week

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.  – Sophomore Eduardo Rosario has been named Summit League Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
 
Rosario helped the Mavericks to a three-game sweep vs. Western Illinois on the weekend while hitting .667 at the plate with a double, home run and four RBI in the series.
 
In the three games, the sophomore recorded a 1.000 slugging percentage, .692 on-base percentage and 1.692 OPS.
 
Rosario went 2-for-4 with a two-RBI single in the series opener before tallying his first three-hit game as Maverick with a double and two runs scored.
 
The Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, native concluded the weekend with a 3-for-5 performance at the plate. Rosario scored twice and had his first homer at Omaha with a two-run shot in the series finale.
 
Omaha continues Summit League play next week as the Mavericks venture to Fargo, N.D., for a four-game series at North Dakota State on Friday-Sunday, May 7-9. Friday's doubleheader is set to begin at 3 p.m. while first pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday. Links to live stats and video are available on OMavs.com.
