OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha baseball team suffered a 3-1 setback vs. second-seeded North Dakota State on opening day of the Summit League Baseball Championship at Tal Anderson Field on Thursday night.
The loss drops the Mavericks to 22-24 on the year while the Bison improve to 39-16.
How it Happened
- A pair of walks followed by an RBI single and an RBI groundout gave the Bison a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second.
- NDSU extended the lead to 3-0 with a solo home run in the fourth.
- Brett Bonar lifted a solo shot down the right field line to plate Omaha's lone run of the game and trim the deficit to 3-1.
- The Mavericks were retired in order in the top of the ninth to clinch the NDSU victory.
