FARGO, N.D. –
Kamryn Meyer tossed a seven-inning no-hitter guiding the Mavericks to a 5-0 win vs. No. 6 North Dakota to advance in the Summit League Tournament. No. 2 Omaha will face No. 4 Kansas City Friday, May 14 at 1 p.m.
With the win, Omaha improves to 19-26 overall.
How It Happened
- The Mavericks capitalized on their first four hits of the game in the third inning. Sydney Ross, Emily Klosterman, and Lynsey Tucker recorded three straight singles to load the bases with no outs.
- Jamie White stepped up to the plate and recorded the fourth hit with a single to left field to plate the first Omaha run of the game. On the next at-bat, Taylor Johnson reached on a fielder's choice with the Fighting Hawks making a play at second allowing Klosterman to score another run. Mavericks led 2-0 after three.
- Omaha extended its lead to 3-0 in the fourth. Lexi Burkhardt led off with a walk and went on to add another run on a Klosterman single up the middle.
- Hailey Bartz stepped up and plated another two runs for the Mavericks in the sixth inning. With a single up the middle, Ross and Jaelle Johnson crossed home plate. It marked the final two runs of the game, and Omaha advanced with a 5-0 win.
