SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Four players were tabbed All-Summit for Omaha softball, the league announced Tuesday morning.
Jamie White earned first team honors, while
Kamryn Meyer,
Emily Klosterman, and
Izzy Eltze picked up second team accolades.
It marks the first career honor for each player.
White has started all 44 games at first base and earned All-Summit First Team honors at the position. She's hitting .283 on the year with 33 hits, including four doubles and four homers. White has totaled 21 RBI and 16 runs on the year.
The Choctaw, Oklahoma native went 4-for-5 at the plate vs. Kansas City on May 1. She recorded three RBI and two runs scored for a season-best performance.
Meyer was named All-Summit Second Team after pitching a solid regular season in the circle for Omaha. She has a 3.10 ERA and a 9-8 record. Over 115.1 innings pitched, the sophomore right-hander has 154 strikeouts, which ranks third in the league.
Meyer pitched a complete 12 inning shutout at Kansas City on May 1. She gave up only four hits in the meeting and retired a career-best 13 batters for the second time this season. The Wilton, Iowa native did it once before vs. North Dakota when she shattered her previous high of nine strikeouts in a single game.
Klosterman earned Second Team honors after starting 42 games at shortstop this season. Klosterman is hitting .283 on the year with 30 hits, including seven doubles, two triples, and one homer. She has 12 runs, 18 RBI, and 10 stolen bases this season. Klosterman's 10 stolen bases ranks fourth in the league.
The Omaha, Nebraska native was named Summit League Player of the Week after hitting .727 over the four-game series with Western Illinois. She totaled eight hits, two doubles, a triple, four RBI, one run, and two stolen bases in the action.
Eltze rounds out the All-Summit selections with a Second Team nod. The freshman center fielder has appeared in 24 games this season. She's hitting .405 on the year with 30 hits, including three doubles, three triples, and two homers. She has 13 RBI, 16 runs scored, and 14 stolen bases.
The Crete, Nebraska native went 4-for-4 at the plate twice this season. She set the career-best vs. North Dakota on March 27 with a double, two RBI, and run scored. Eltze matched the performance last weekend vs. South Dakota with a double and triple in the action. She also tallied three runs, two RBI, and two stolen bases.
The Mavericks return to action this Thursday in the 2021 Summit League Tournament. Omaha earned the No. 2 seed and will play the winner of No. 3 North Dakota State and No. 6 North Dakota on Thursday, May 13 at 2:30 p.m. in Fargo, North Dakota.
