OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha wraps up the road portion of the regular season at Kansas City this weekend with two more conference doubleheaders. The Mavericks and Roos meet on Saturday and Sunday in Kansas City at noon on both days. The Roos enter the weekend riding a five-game win streak, while the Mavericks have won three of their last four games.

Leading Off
- The Mavericks moved up to fifth in the Summit League standings and a 6-9 in league action with two weekends left to play. The final road trip is to Kansas City this weekend, and then Mavericks will host South Dakota to wrap up the regular season.
- Omaha picked up its first two road wins of the season last week after taking back-to-back contests at North Dakota State. The Mavericks beat the Bison in game two (5-3) and game three (8-0).
- Sydney Ross and Janae Cameron hit home runs in game three helping Omaha to the shutout. Ross tallied two RBI in the sixth, while Cameron's was a solo shot in in the seventh.
- Ross has now reached the bases in 12 straight games for Omaha. She recorded a hit in 10 of those games and was walked in one and hit by a pitch in the other.
- Sydney Nuismer helped Omaha to an extra-inning win vs. Creighton last week. The freshman pitcher came in for relief in the third inning and pitched the final seven. She retired a career-best nine batters.
- Nuismer and Kamryn Meyer are in the top-10 charts for Summit League pitchers. Nuismer leads Omaha with a 3.40 ERA, which ranks fifth. Meyer is sitting at eighth with a 3.87 ERA.
- With 123 strikeouts this season, Meyer nears breaking into the single-season charts. She needs 11 more to tie for fifth in program history.
Scouting the Kansas City Roos
Kansas City enters the weekend sitting third in the Summit League standings with an 8-8 record. The Roos are 24-19 overall and have picked up quite a few important wins this season. On March 19, the Roos took down No. 6 Oklahoma State, 6-5, for their first win against a ranked opponent on the year. UMKC previously fell to No. 1 Oklahoma earlier in the year, 6-2. The Roos also picked up an 8-6 win at Kansas on April 9.
In league action, Kansas City fell in all four to South Dakota State, but rebounded with two wins at North Dakota State and South Dakota. They most recently swept Western Illinois.
Roos to Watch
- Kloe Hilbrenner leads the Roos hitting .347 this season over 43 games. She's totaled 52 hits, including seven doubles, a triple, and three homers. Hilbrenner has 35 runs and 14 RBI. She leads the Roos, the league, and is third in the country with 36 stolen bases on the year.
- Alexis D'Ambrosio is hitting .327. She's recorded 37 hits with seven doubles, one triple, and two home runs. She has 21 runs scored and 10 RBI.
- Lia Lombardini leads the Roos with 11 doubles, while Ally Vonfeldt leads with 12 homers. They have 38 and 39 RBI, respectively.
- In the circle, Mia Hoveland has made 23 starts and 26 appearances for UMKC. Hoveland is 12-11 on the year with a 3.67 ERA. Over 145 innings pitched, she has 158 strikeouts. Hoveland has two shutouts and a save.
- Camryn Stickel is 12-7 on the year for the Roos. She has a 3.94 ERA over 22 appearances. Stickel has one shutout and 59 strikeouts this season.
