OMAHA, Neb. – The Mavericks resume conference action this weekend opening an eight-game road trip at North Dakota State. Omaha and NDSU meet for a pair of doubleheaders. Saturday's slate will start at noon, while Sunday's will begin at 11 a.m.
Leading Off
- Emily Klosterman was named the Summit League Player of the Week following her performance vs. Western Illinois. The senior shortstop posted a batting average of .727 over the four games. She totaled eight hits, including three multi-base hits, four RBI, one run, and two stolen bases over the four games.
- Klosterman went 8-for-11 at the plate. She finished 3-for-3 in game three of the series with the Leathernecks. Klosterman has tallied an extra-base hit in three straight games.
- Omaha hosted crosstown rival Creighton for a mid-week contest and went to extras with the Bluejays. The Mavericks tied the game 2-2 in the fourth and won on a sac-fly in the 10th inning. It marked the first walk-off and extra inning win for the Mavericks this season and at the Connie Claussen Field.
- Allison Helton tallied the game winning RBI with the sac-fly to center that plated Emily Klosterman for the win.
- Sydney Nuismer came in for relief in the third inning vs. Creighton and pitched the final seven of the game. She retired a career-best nine batters and gave up only two hits.
- Emily Klosterman and Sydney Ross kept hitting streaks alive vs. the Bluejays. Klosterman is now on a nine-game hitting streak, while Ross is on an eight-game hitting streak.
Scouting the North Dakota State Bison
The Bison are 12-21 (7-5) heading into the weekend. NDSU packed its non-conference schedule with some tough opponents as they faced a nationally ranked Arkansas team, Ole Miss, Kansas, and Tulsa, to name a few. The Bison have found more success in league play with seven wins at the midway point. NDSU split with both Western Illinois and Kansas City, and won three against South Dakota. In conference action, the Bison are hitting .340 with 120 hits to sit second on the leader boards.

- Stephanie Soriano leads the Bison hitting .398 over 31 games played. She has 39 hits, including eight doubles and a homer. Soriano is hitting .548 in league play, which is at the top of the league leader board.
- Madyson Camacho hits .352 on the year. She has one triple and one homer. Camacho leads the Bison with seven stolen bases this season.
- Page Vargas has made 16 appearances and 13 starts in the circle. She is 7-8 with a 4.28 ERA. Vargas has one shutout and 48 strikeouts over 70.1 innings.
- Lainey Lyle is 4-4 on the year with a 4.20 ERA, which ranks fourth in the league. Lyle has pitched five complete games and 43.1 innings. She's recorded one shutout and 38 strikeouts.
