DENVER, Colo. - The Mavericks dropped the first of two road matches this weekend at Metropolitan State. Omaha took the doubles point but dropped four singles to fall 4-1 on the night.
With the loss, the Mavericks fall to 8-10 on the year.
In doubles action, the Mavericks won all three sets to capture the point and take an early 1-0 lead.
Madison Gallegos and
Ines Absisan took the No. 1 line first with a 6-4 win over Ross and Heras.
Natalie Lorentz and
Addison Miller clinched the point with a 7-6 (7-5) win at the No. 3 line.
Colby Kelley and
Brooke Covington also picked up a win in the No. 2 doubles for Omaha.
Metro State won four straight singles at the No. 6, 2, 1, and 5 lines to clinch the match 4-1 Friday afternoon.
The Mavericks return to the court tomorrow with a Summit League match at Denver. It is set to start at 11 a.m. CT.
