OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha men's tennis team fell 4-1 at Western Michigan on Saturday afternoon in Kalamazoo, Mich.
The loss moves the Mavericks to 10-16 on the year while the Broncos improve to 20-1.
Doubles Play
Western Michigan posted the first two victories in doubles action with wins in the No. 3 and No. 2 spots to clinch the doubles point.
Matt Hulme and
Abdoul Ouattara posted a 6-4 win in the No. 1 match.
Singles Play
Hulme collected Omaha's lone point of the match with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Jannik Opitz in the No. 1 spot. Hulme's victory cut the Western Michigan lead to 2-1 until the Broncos reeled off wins in the No. 4 and No. 2 matches to clinch the 4-1 victory.
What's Next
The Mavericks return home for their final two regular-season matches next weekend. Omaha hosts Oral Roberts on Friday, April 23 at 11 a.m. and North Dakota on Sunday, April 24 at 2 p.m.
