OMAHA, Neb. - The Mavericks hosted North Dakota to kickoff their final weekend of the regular season. The Fighting Hawks took a 6-1 win Friday afternoon. With the loss, Omaha falls to 9-13 on the year with one match left to play.
North Dakota took an early lead after picking up wins in No. 1 and 3 doubles to capture the point.
The Hawks took the next two points as singles started up with wins at the No. 6 and 5 lines.
Ines Absisan tallied the only Maverick point with a win at the No. 2 line. Absisan beat Allie Ochotorena, 6-4 and 6-2, to put Omaha on the board.
Omaha couldn't keep the momentum going allowing the Hawks to capture the final three points and win 6-1.
The Mavericks host Kansas City tomorrow afternoon. The match is set to start at 4 p.m. at Miracle Hill. Following the match, Omaha will honor the senior class.
