OMAHA, Neb. – The Mavericks wrap up their road trip with two matches vs. the conference leading Denver Pioneers. Omaha is coming off a big overtime win vs. Kansas City last weekend and look to capitalize on its success by taking down Denver. The Pioneers are coming off two wins at North Dakota and look to extend their first-place lead in the standings.

Quick Kicks
  • Sunday's match at Kansas City marked the sixth time this season the Mavericks saw overtime. The last time this happened was in 2014 when the team also saw six overtime matches.
  • Sophia Green netted the game winner in the 96th minute securing the 2-1 win for Omaha at Kansas City. This marked her third game winner this season, which already ties her for second in the Division I career books.
  •  Green leads the Mavericks with five goals, 33 shots, and 14 shots on goal this season. Hannah Heinemann and Andrea Daves are the only other Omaha players with multiple goals on the year.

Scouting the Denver Pioneers
Denver sits atop the Summit standings with a 10-2-1 (10-1-1) record this season. The two losses on the year were at the hands of Colorado and South Dakota State. Denver took South Dakota State to a 1-1 draw in the team's other meeting. The Pioneers are 6-0 on their home turf heading into a pair of games against the Mavericks at the Diane Wendt Sports Complex.

  • Natalie Beckman is an early front runner for Player of the Year with three Player of the Week accolades. The junior forward leads the league and Denver with eight goals, 11 assists, and 27 points.
  • Sami Feller is close behind Beckman with seven goals on the year. She adds five assists. Feller leads the Pioneers with 33 shots and 21 on goal.
  • Nerea Arrazola has logged nearly 1,223 minutes in goal for Denver this season and played 13 complete matches between the pipes. She has a .59 GAA ranking second behind Omaha's Mia Reedtz Rehde Olesen. Arrazola has seven shutouts
 
Series History
Denver leads the all-time series 7-1-0 over Omaha. The Pioneers took a 2-0 win over the Mavericks last season in the regular season meeting. Andrea Daves and Brylie Meyer each fired off a shot in the match.
