KANSAS CITY, Mo. -
Kenji Mboma Dem gave the Mavericks a 1-0 edge in the first half, but the Roos would score two unanswered goals in the second half to snap Omaha's five-game win streak. The Mavericks fall to 5-2-0 (4-2-0) this season after Kansas City picked up the regular season sweep Thursday night.
How It Happened
- After suffering an early season loss to the Roos, the Mavericks looked to even the series early in the first half. Kenji Mboma Dem struck in the 32nd minute giving Omaha a 1-0 edge into the second half. Tevin Rochester sent a ball down field, and Mboma Dem gave chase. He took the ball into the box and weaved through the defending Roos. He sent the ball high in goal to find the back of the net giving Omaha an early lead.
- Jony Munoz knotted the match 1-1 in the 56th minute after beating a charging Jeremy Pollard with a low goal for Kansas City.
- After the goal by the Roos, Omaha managed five shots with Nil Ayats firing two on goal that wouldn't convert for Omaha. Kansas City recorded six of its own with the final shot connecting for the Roos.
- In the 89th minute, Seth Kacich found the back of the net on a rebounded shot off Pollard. The late goal from Kacich helped the Roos secure the win and sweep over the Mavericks.

Coach Speak
"We had some great attacking movements, some of the best of the year. On another day it could have been four at the half," said head coach
Bob Warming. "Kenji's goal was brilliant and he was playing so well before leaving the game with an injury.
UMKC had some good attacking moments, but we gave away two goals and the team is rightfully devastated. The good news is that our destiny and how long we keep this team together is 100 percent in our hands. The top three teams all have two losses now. We can win the league and book a ticket to the dance in these four matches. I know there is a great determination within this group to do just that."
On Deck
The Mavericks will travel to league leading Oral Roberts for two matches next week. The teams will meet Thursday, April 1 and Saturday, April 3. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. both nights.
