OMAHA, Neb. – The Mavericks take their first road trip of the 2020-21 campaign this weekend traveling to Fargo, North Dakota. Omaha will face conference foe North Dakota State for a pair of games. Friday's kickoff is set for 6 p.m., while Sunday's will start at 1 p.m.

Quick Kicks
  • The Mavericks are on their best start to a season in the Tim Walters era and since the 2006 season. In 2006, Omaha opened the year 4-0 through their first four games, and it also the last time the Mavericks recorded four consecutive shutouts.
  • Hannah Heinemann recorded five points over the weekend series with North Dakota. In game one, Heinemann netted back to back goals. She also took a career-best three shots on goal. In game two, Heinemann tallied one assist.
  • Andrea Daves and Sophia Green also tallied a pair of goals on the weekend. Daves netted the game winner just 10 minutes into game one with the Hawks. Green would tally the game winner 33 seconds into the second half of game two.
  • The Mavericks sit third in the Summit League standings after the first two weekends. Omaha and Denver remain the only two undefeated teams in conference play.
 
Scouting the North Dakota State Bison
North Dakota State is riding a three-game win streak into this weekend's series with Omaha. The Bison have posted three straight shutouts vs. conference opponents Kansas City and Western Illinois. Their only loss of the season came in the opened to Kansas City, 3-2. The Bison were picked to finish seventh in the Summit League Preseason Poll. They finished the 2019 campaign 8-7-3 and 3-3-2 in league action.
 
Bison to Watch
  • Olivia Lovick has four of NDSU's seven goals this season. She scored both goals in the Bison's 2-0 win over Western Illinois on Feb. 21. She tallied a single goal in both games vs. Kansas City. She has a .833 shot on goal percentage as four of her five shots on goal resulted in a goal for NDSU.
  • Brookelynn Dew adds two goals on the year, while Ellie Schneider has one goal and two assists.
  • Aly Cole and Abby Wilkinson have split time between the pipes for NDSU. Cole hasn't allowed a goal in both her matches and posted two shutouts. Cole tallied five saves over the two games. Wilkinson is 1-1 and recorded seven saves over the two games played in goal for the Bison.
 
Series History
The Bison hold an 8-5-1 advantage in the all-time series over the Mavericks. Omaha took a 1-0 shutout win over NDSU last season in the regular season meeting between the teams. Laurin Mertz led the offense with three shots, two on goal. Andrea Daves and Mali Seran each recorded one in the match.
