OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha women's soccer hosts North Dakota for another pair of games this weekend. The teams will take the pitch Friday, Feb. 19 at 1:45 p.m. and Monday, Feb. 22 at 9:45 a.m. The Mavericks are coming off an 0-0-2 weekend vs. South Dakota State and this will be the Fighting Hawks opening weekend.

Scouting the North Dakota Fighting Hawks
North Dakota has yet to open 2020-21 action after its opening slate with Oral Roberts was postponed. The Fighting Hawks made the Summit League tournament last season for the first time in program history. They finished 10-8-1 overall with a 4-4-0 finish in conference action. North Dakota fell in the opening round to Denver, 3-0. The Hawks were selected sixth in the Summit League Preseason Poll.
Hawks to Watch
- Mara Yapello was named a preseason player to watch. She finished second in scoring and assists for the Hawks last season. Yapello recorded five goals and four assists in 2019 action.
- Megan Wright was also named a preseason player to watch. She tied for third on the team with three goals and three assists last year.
- Madi Livingston made five appearances in goal for the Hawks last year and returns as the team's leading goalkeeper. She went 0-4-0 and recorded 31 saves. She finished with a 2.82 GAA and a .721 save percentage.
- Ashley Ebeling, Zoey Johnston, Taylor Lange, and Karly Sandoval were named captains for the 2020-21 season. Ebeling played in 19 matches last year tallying three goals on four shots on goal. Sandoval appeared in 19 matches, while Lange played in five.
Series History
Omaha holds a 15-5-3 advantage in the all-time series with North Dakota. The teams met On Oct. 27 last year. The Hawks took a 5-2 win over the Mavericks in Grand Forks.
