OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha picked up another 3-0 sweep in its last home match of the season. The Mavericks extend their win streak to seven games. Mountjoy led the defense with 21 digs on the match.
The Mavericks improve to 16-8 overall and hold a 13-1 record in conference play.
How It Happened
- Omaha came out with an early 4-1 lead to start the first set. An error from the Mavericks gave the Fighting Hawks another point, but Omaha responded with five-point run putting them up 9-2. The Mavericks went on another five-point run to put the score to 15-6 with a block from Rylee Marshall, an ace from Shayla McCormick and a kill from Sadie Limback. Omaha continued its strong lead and ended the match on a Limback kill. Mavericks take the first set 25-13.
- Set two started a little differently with points going back and forth. North Dakota pushed its way into a 12-9 lead. Omaha didn't gain the lead until a block from McKenna Ruch and Marriah Buss put them up 15-14. The Mavericks held the lead from this point with kills from Ruch, an ace from Sami Clarkson and a couple blocks from Ruch and Buss to reach a 23-15 lead. Omaha only allowed North Dakota two more points on the set and took the second set with a 25-17 win.
- The Mavericks fell to a 4-1 deficit to start set three. Again North Dakota held onto the lead until a kill from Ruch tied the game 8-8. From there, Omaha pushed three straight points to give them the lead 11-8. Omaha gained momentum from there and pushed the lead to 18-10 after back-to-back aces from Jaiden Centeno. North Dakota tried to make their way back into the game with a couple kills but Omaha responded with kills of their own from Buss and Ruch to end the third set 25-16. Mavericks win set three and take the match.

- Claire Mountjoy picked up 21 digs as the libero and recorded an ace.
- Ruch led the team with eight blocks and added another eight kills.
- Clarkson put up 30 assists and added three blocks.
- Limback recorded eight kills and seven digs while adding three blocks.
- Buss led the team in kills with 9 and added four blocks.
