TULSA, Okla. - The Mavericks added another three-set sweep against Oral Roberts to claim the regular season title. Omaha will head into the Summit League Tournament as the number one seed. Limback led the way with a double-double on 14 kills and 13 digs and also added four blocks.
The Mavericks improve to 19-8 overall and 16-1 in the Summit League.
How It Happened
- The Mavericks started the game with a 2-1 lead after a kill from Sadie Limback. The game continued back and forth until errors from Oral Roberts put Omaha up 10-7. Kills from McCormick, Limback and Marshall extended the lead to 13-11. The Golden Eagles pushed their way back but a pair of kills from Marriah Buss helped Omaha to push to a 17-14 lead. Omaha held onto the lead and with a kill from Limback they were up 21-17. The Mavericks went on to win set one 25-20.
- The second set started out with three straight points for the Mavericks. Rylee Marshall and Sadie Limback put up a big block at the net and put Omaha up 6-3. Omaha went on a roll with five straight points to push the lead to 14-8. The Mavericks continued on with its streak and after back-to-back kills from Shayla McCormick and back-to-back kills from Marshall, Omaha was at a 21-10 advantage. The Mavericks went on to win 25-16.
- Set three was a back and forth game from the start. Omaha gained its first two-point lead at 8-6 after a kill from McKenna Ruch. The set kept going point for point until Omaha snagged another two-point lead again with a kill from Ruch. The game was tied 19-19 when the Mavericks went on a five-point run giving them the largest lead of the set at 24-19. The Mavericks allowed Oral Roberts one more point before going on to win set three 25-20.
Inside the Box
- Limback led the way with 14 kills hitting a .419 and added 13 digs and four blocks.
- McCormick notched 12 kills and seven digs.
- Ruch tallied nine kills and five blocks.
- Clarkson recorded 42 assists and added 10 digs.
- Jaiden Centeno led the defense with 20 digs and added two assists.
