OMAHA, Neb. - Head softball coach
Mike Heard announced a signee to the 2022 roster Thursday morning. Rylan Edwolt will join the Mavericks next semester. She is a transfer out of Boise State.
"Rylan is an in-state player that we are excited is coming back close to home to be part of Omaha Softball," said Heard. "She had a great high school career at Lincoln Southeast and played club ball at highest level with Nebraska Gold. We anticipate her being a strong addition to our team in the spring."
Edwolt played at Lincoln Southeast. During her tenure with the team, she was named a two-time Nebraska All-State honoree. She was ranked 45th overall and was the 37th rank infielder coming our of high school in 2021 by Extra Innings Softball.
While at Lincoln Southeast, Edwolt tied the Nebraska state record for career home runs. She finished with 63. She also tied the state record with three homers in one game. In her senior season she hit .328 with 42 hits, 43 runs and 46 RBI. As a junior, she hit .486 with 51 hits, 52 runs, 57 RBI and 20 home runs.
