Sadie Limback notched her fourth double-double in five matches helping the Mavericks to a 3-1 win at North Dakota State Saturday morning. The Mavericks dropped the first set and rebounded taking the next three to extend their win streak to six games. Limback finished with 18 kills and 10 digs.
Omaha improves to 9-7 overall and 6-0 in league play.
How It Happened
- The Bison challenged the Mavericks from the start of Saturday's match jumping out to a 4-0 edge to start the action. They managed to take a 10-3 lead before Omaha could tally two straight points. Limback sparked a late rally to get the Mavericks within three. She tallied a fill and three consecutive service aces to help narrow the lead 18-15. NDSU responded with a 6-0 run for set point and went on to win 25-16.
- Omaha gained an early lead in the second set with a kill to start things off by Lakyn Graves. Shayla McCormick went for back-to-back kills to cap a 5-2 run. Graves later led the Mavericks on a 3-0 run with two kills in the stretch to edge the Bison 11-5. The Bison chipped away and got within one following three straight points with an ace and pair of kills. Limback added a kill, while Claire Mountjoy tallied an assist to make it a 20-17 Omaha lead. Ali Hinze recorded the final four NDSU points with kills, but the Mavericks took set two, 25-21.
- Despite a 4-0 NDSU run to start the third set, the Mavericks dominated after finding their rhythm. Marriah Buss and Limback helped tie the set 4-4. Omaha then went on a 15-3 run to take a 19-8 lead. Limback, MCormick, Rylee Marshall, and Buss all recorded kills in the stretch. Two kills from Graves and another from Limback then made it a 22-9 lead. Limback capped the set with a pair of kills, and Omaha won 25-11.
- Omaha's momentum kept going into the fourth set as they opened with a 5-0 run highlighted by kills from Limback and Graves. Kirstin Todd and Ali Hinze got the Bison within two with kills in a 3-0 NDSU run midway through. Another 3-0 Bison run helped knot the set 10-10. NDSU extended their lead 14- 12 with three more consecutive points. Omaha recaptured the lead with a 6-0 run sparked by a NDSU service error. Sami Clarkson and McCormick recorded kills in the stretch for Omaha. Four straight kills from Limback, Marshal, Clarkson, and Buss made it match point, and with another kill from Buss, the Mavericks won the match 3-1.

- Limback hit .375 on the day with her fourth double-double of the season. She finished with 18 kills and 10 digd. She also added an assist, four aces, and one block.
