ST. PAUL, Minn. - Omaha cruised to a 3-0 sweep. The Mavericks held the St. Thomas Tommies to a .065 hitting percentage on Saturday afternoon.
McKenna Ruch recorded double-figure kills leading the Mavericks to the win.
The Mavericks improve to 13-8 overall and hold a 10-1 record in conference play.
How It Happened
- A kill from St. Thomas put the first point on the board. Omaha quickly made it a 9-1 game with kills from Shayla McCormick and McKenna Ruch, and three aces from Claire Mountjoy. Omaha continued with runs of 3-4 points for every Tommie point. The Mavericks had a strong 24-8 lead at the end of the game. They allowed St. Thomas two more points but ended the game after a kill from McCormick.
- St. Thomas got a slight lead to start the second set, going up 5-3 on the Mavericks. Omaha responded with nine unanswered points putting them in a 12-5 lead. Omaha continued to hold the lead and went up 17-7 with kills from McCormick and Buss. The Tommies came back with a short run to put the game at 17-11. The Mavericks didn't allow St. Thomas to come back into the game and ended it with a kill from McKenna Ruch to take set two 25-15.
- The third set started a little different. Omaha and St. Thomas went back and forth with points until the Mavericks got a three-point run to put them up 9-5. Omaha continued the game get two points for every Tommie point. Back-to-back kills from Ruch and Sadie Limback gave Omaha the lead 15-9. St. Thomas gained a little momentum at the end of the set edging them back into the set but still trailing 23-17. The set ended with errors from the Tommies, giving Omaha the set win 25-17 and the match.

- Ruch led Omaha with 14 kills and tallied four aces and three blocks.
- Marshall and McCormick each recorded five blocks on the night. McCormick also added nine kills.
- Jaiden Centeno recorded 13 digs on the night, while Claire Mountjoy tallied 10.
- Clarkson finished with 35 assists and nine digs.
- The Mavericks dominated in every stat category. They led in points (58-34), kills (42-29), aces (8-2), blocks (8-3), assists (40-25), and digs (49-35).
