Omaha Extends Win Streak Against Oral Roberts

OMAHA, Neb. - Sophia Green put away the game winner in the 50th minute vs. the Golden Eagles helping the Mavericks to a 1-0 win. It marks the third straight win in league action for Omaha.

With the win, Omaha is 6-5-2 overall and 3-1-0 in Summit League play.

How It Happened
  • The Mavericks dominated offensively Friday night and came out firing two shots in the first eight minutes of play. Emilie Erland and Andrea Daves tallied two off target, before Jordyn Blackburn recorded the first shot on goal to be blocked by Mia Reedtz Rehde Olesen
  • Marissa Gohr to Omaha's first shots on goal with back-to-back attempts in the 18th minute. ORU's keeper got a hand on it forcing it to deflect off the crossbar back out to Gohr. She put another touch on it low left that was saved again by Louisa Ramsauer.
  • Sophia Green recorded two late shots off target, but neither team would get another shot off in the final nine minutes of the half and they went scoreless into the break.
  • Grace Ostergaard and Regan Zimmers took shots off target before Green connected on Omaha's first shot on goal of the half. Zimmers passed to LaVigne just outside the right of the box. LaVigne sent a cross into the box for Green who tapped it home.
  • Ostergaard and Kennedy Langbartles recorded shots on goal in the 80th minute for their respective teams, but both were saved between the pipes. 
  • Daves nearly doubled the lead in the 87th minute. Ramsauer got her hands on the ball for the save, but the Mavericks went on to win 1-0.

Inside the Box
  • The Mavericks dominated shots 20-7 and held a 5-4 edge in shots on goal.
  • Ostergaard led with four shots and one on goal.
  • Green, Zimmers, and Gohr tallied three each. Gohr led the match with two shots on goal.
  • Mia Reedtz Rehde Olesen made four stops in goal. She improves to 4-3-2 overall and posted her fifth shutout of the year.
