Omaha Opens Summit League Action at NDSU

The Omaha women's basketball team begins Summit League play with a pair of road games at North Dakota State on Friday, Jan. 8 and Saturday, Jan. 9. Both games are set for a 5 p.m. tipoff at the Scheels Center in Fargo, N.D.
 
Both games this weekend will be televised on Midco and ESPN+. Brian Shawn will have the call for both games, with Freddy Coleman providing color commentary on Friday and Greg Stemen providing color commentary on Saturday. Jon Schriner is in his second season as the voice of Omaha women's basketball and will have the radio call on 1180 Zone 2. Links to live stats, audio and video are available on OMavs.com.

Scouting the North Dakota State Bison
North Dakota State is 6-2 (1-1 Summit League) on the season after splitting last weekend at Western Illinois in the Summit League opener. The Bison are currently ranked No. 24 in the College Insider Mid-Major Women's Top 25 Poll. Heaven Hamling and Ryan Cobbins pace the NDSU scoring attack with 11.6 and 10.0 points per game, respectively.
 
As a team, North Dakota State is scoring 74.2 points per game while shooting 43.2 percent from the floor and 40.3 percent from three-point range. The Bison are grabbing 36.2 boards per game and hold a slim +1.5 rebounding margin over opponents. Opponents are scoring 67.9 points per game and shooting 38.5 percent from the field.
 
Head coach Jory Collins is in his second season at North Dakota State with a record of 17-21. Collins is in his 10th overall season and holds a career record of 216-79.
 
Looking Ahead
Omaha is set to play its first home games of the season next weekend when the Mavericks host South Dakota State on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 15-16. Tipoff for both games is set for 3 p.m.
