WICHITA, Kan. – The Omaha men's tennis team fell 6-1 on Saturday afternoon at Wichita State in Wichita, Kan.
Omaha drops to 0-3 on the season while the Shockers improve to 2-1.
Doubles Play
The Mavericks won two of the three doubles matches to clinch the doubles point. The Shockers began play with a victory in the No. 3 match. Omaha rallied back when
Matt Hulme and
Abdoul Ouattara won the No. 1 match and
Hugo Piles Ballester and
Davis Lawley won the No. 2 match.
Singles Play
Wichita State posted victories in all six singles matches. Five of the six matches went two sets with the No. 1 match lasting three sets. Hulme suffered a three-set heartbreaking loss to Stefan Latinovic, 6-4, 3-6, 4-6.
What's Next
The Mavericks face Marquette on Friday, Jan. 22 and UIC on Saturday, Jan. 23. Both matches are set to be played in Milwaukee, Wis.
