OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha head softball coach
Amanda Eberhart announced the addition of Rachel Weber transferring to the Maverick softball program on Friday.
Weber comes to Omaha after playing two seasons at Missouri State.
"I am excited for what Rachel will bring to our program," said Eberhart. "She brings two years of playing experience at the DI level and adding her bat to our lineup will help move our program forward."
Weber appeared in 55 games, including 53 starts while hitting .248 with eight doubles, two homers and 19 RBI in two seasons with the Bears.
The Lincoln, Neb., native finished second on the team with eight doubles and 24 runs while starting 47 games in right field as a freshman in 2019. Weber ranked fourth on the team with 19 RBI and tallied 10 multi-hit games.
Prior to Missouri State, Weber competed in softball, basketball and track at Lincoln East High School. She batted .471 in her senior year with 11 home runs, 48 RBI and an .826 slugging percentage. Weber capped her high school career with school records in career batting average (.451), hits (202), runs (161), RBI (168) and home runs (28).
