SN - Cam Fowler

Dear Omaha,

Life in Illinois is going well. I’ve been spending a lot of quality time with the family but cannot wait to get back to Omaha. Along with the large amounts of homework I’ve had, I’ve been doing workouts in my basement, playing long toss with my dad out in the street, really working on my hoops game in the driveway and working on my golf swing in the front yard to fill up the rest of the day.

What I miss most about the city is the amount of fast food places I can choose from. What I miss most about UNO is definitely just hanging out with my teammates -- whether that be after lifting, after games or at practice or something as simple as talking in between classes. I miss all of the guys and can’t wait to see all of them again.

Sitting at my house thinking, “Wow, we should be playing a game literally right now” makes me appreciate everything UNO has brought to me from the athletics side. It really makes you realize that you should take nothing for granted. There is no experience like playing a big game against Nebraska or Creighton with a ton of fans in the bleachers. From the baseball team and up to all of the other athletes, we thank each and every single one of our Maverick fans. We would not be the same without the fans.

I really look forward to returning to Omaha and getting back to work for next season. Speaking on behalf of the entire team, we cannot wait to get back out on the field and play the game we all love.
