OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha Athletics announced today that beginning with the 2020-21 hockey season, all Saturday home games will begin at 6:07 p.m.

"We decided to move up the start times of our Saturday home games by one hour in an effort to make them more family friendly," said Mike Kemp, Senior Associate Athletic Director.  "Other teams in the NCHC have moved up their start times on Saturday nights, and it has been well received by fans.  We expect the same here in Omaha."

"We have many fans who have young children, and the earlier start time will allow them to have a great night at a game," said head coach Mike Gabinet.  "Our fans make game nights at Baxter Arena such an outstanding experience, and we can't wait to welcome them back."

Start times for the Mavericks' Friday home games will remain at 7:07 p.m.

The Mavericks' released their 2020-21 schedule last week.  The season begins on Monday, Oct. 5 with an exhibition game against Manitoba at Baxter Arena.  Omaha will face its first NCAA competition on Oct. 9-10 when it hosts Alaska.
