ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Omaha softball team launched four home runs while recording a split on Saturday at the Rambler Rumble in Rosemont, Ill. The Mavericks run-ruled Green Bay in five innings with an 8-0 victory before falling 3-2 vs. Butler in the second game.
With the split, the Mavericks are 2-2 to start the season.
Game One: Omaha 8, Green Bay 0 (5 Inn.)
How It Happened
- Lexi Burkhardt reached on an infield single to the pitcher in the second before Janae Cameron lifted a two-run shot over the fence in left to give the Mavericks a 2-0 lead.
- With a two-run lead in the fourth inning, Omaha exploded for six runs to blow the game open and take an 8-0 advantage.
- Taylor Johnson reached on a double, followed by an RBI single by Cameron to extend the lead to 3-0.
- Allison Helton drilled a two-RBI double down the left field line to bring home Hailey Bartz and Grace Boganowski.
- Emma Dargy capped the scoring with a three-run blast to left, scoring Helton and Emily Klosterman.
- Sydney Hampton started in the circle for the Mavericks, holding Green Bay scoreless to clinch the run-rule victory in five innings.

- The Mavericks raced out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first inning when Dargy and Jamie White hit back-to-back home runs.
- The Bulldogs responded with an RBI single and a bases-loaded walk to tie the game at two in the bottom of the first.
- Butler scored the winning run in the bottom of the fourth on a wild pitch.
Inside the Box Score
- Dargy and White led Omaha at the plate with a solo home run each.
- Bartz posted one hit while Alexa Sedlak reached on a walk.
- Kamryn Meyer fell to 0-1 on the season. The freshman pitched all six innings while allowing three runs on five hits and striking out three batters.
