OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha track & field team returns to competition on Saturday, Feb. 8 at the Dakota Realty Alumni Meet at South Dakota.

Both track and field events begin at 10:30 a.m. from the Dakota Dome in Vermillion, S.D.

The Mavericks picked up a host of lifetime bests at their last meet, the Jack Johnson Classic at Minnesota on Feb. 1.

Senior Brekk Flax finished first in the 60 meter dash for the first time in her career with a lifetime best time of 7.81.  It marked the third time this season she has either set or tied her PR in the event.  She was just .01 off a spot in Omaha's all-time top-10 list.

Freshman Carrie Simonson also posted a top-eight finish, taking eighth with a time of 8.07.

Junior Jaycee Schettler ran a .20 lifetime best in the prelims of the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.56. She would go on to finish eighth in the finals with a time of 8.63.

In the 200 meters, junior Scarlett Hill was seventh with a time of 26.72.

Sophomore Heidi Hall was one of three Mavericks to set PR's in the mile run.  Hall came in seventh in a time of 5:23.10, shaving nearly four seconds off her previous best.

Freshman Paige Blackford was right behind in eighth with a lifetime best time of 5:24.93, and classmate Maya Nachtigal was 10th with a lifetime best time of 5:26.07.

Also in the distances, senior Anita Jenkins ran a lifetime best of 10:49.21 in the 3,000 meters. Her fellow senior, Ivanna Uribe, was less than a second off her best with a time of 10:47.87.
