Women's Basketball Travels To Oral Roberts

OMAHA, Neb. -- The Maverick women's basketball program sets its sights towards a road trip to Tulsa for a matchup against Oral Roberts this Thursday, Feb. 13, at 7 p.m.
 
OPENING TIP
• Omaha looks to snap an eight-game skid, with its last win being against Oral Roberts Jan. 4 inside Baxter Arena.
• Omaha trails the all-time series 8-3 against the Golden Eagles.
Mariah Murdie leads the team with 10.1 points per contest and has three-straight double-digit scoring game.
• The sophomore also reached double figures in six of her last eight games.
• Last time out, Akili Felici hit a team season and a career-high five three pointers against South Dakota State - all in the second half.  
 
LAST TIME OUT AGAINST ORAL ROBERTS
OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha women's basketball team rallied back from a second half deficit and defeated Oral Roberts 60-54 in Baxter Arena Saturday afternoon.
 
The Mavericks (6-9, 1-1) limited Oral Roberts (5-10, 0-2) to just 17 second half points for the win. Mariah Murdie led the way with 13 points and eight rebounds on 5-of-11 shooting. Josie Filer and Rayanna Carter followed with 10 points each. Claire Killian finished with eight points on a pair of threes made.
 
SCOUTING ORAL ROBERTS
The Oral Roberts Golden Eagles started off slow in league play at 0-2, but worked their way up to fourth in the league standings and are on a two-game winning streak. ORU is 11-13 overall and 6-5 in league action. In the previous meeting, Omaha defeated the Golden Eagles, 60-54 on Jan. 4 for its lone league win.
 
Last time out, Keni Jo Lippe, who leads the league in scoring average at 18.1 points per game, dropped an NCAA single-game high of 46 points in the Feb. 9 win over North Dakota State. 
 
LOOKING AHEAD
Omaha returns home two days later for a Saturday, Feb. 15, matchup against Denver at 7 p.m. inside Baxter Arena. The game will also mark "Pink Day" for breast cancer awareness. For more information, visit OMavs.com.
