OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha women's tennis capped off the weekend sweep with a 7-0 win over McPherson College Saturday afternoon at Miracle Hill Tennis Center.
The Mavericks improve to 3-1 on the season.
In doubles, Omaha secured the point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3. The team of
Natalie Lorentz and
Lillian Tiemeyer won 6-0 at No. 1, while
Savanna Crowell and
Clare Crockett clinched the point with a 6-2 win at No. 3. At No. 2, the team of
Marie Kapelevich and
Justine Linscott were up 4-3 as the match went unfinished.
For singles play, Omaha swept all six courts against the Bulldogs. Lorentz claimed a three-set win (4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (7)) at No. 1 and Tiemeyer cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 2. For No. 3, Crowell won 6-1, 6-2, while Kapelevich claimed a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 4.
The final two courts included wins from Crockett at No. 5 (6-2, 6-2) and Linscott at No. 6 (6-3, 7-6 (4)).
