Women's Tennis Remains Perfect at Home In 5-2 Win Over Saint Louis

OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha women's tennis earned its third-straight win of the season and remained perfect at home with a 5-2 victory over Saint Louis Saturday afternoon at Miracle Hill Tennis Center.

The Mavericks secured the doubles point and singles wins at courts one, two, five and six.

"This is a fantastic team win today," said Director of Tennis Adam Summitt. "The girls came out focused and were determined to come away with a win. Doubles was a fast start and it helped us get the momentum into singles play. Saint Louis battled us and made us earn it. We look forward to doing it again tomorrow."

In doubles play, Marie Kapelevich and Natalie Lorentz got the Mavericks the first win at No. 2, 6-3. The team of Madison Gallegos and Ines Absisan clinched the point with a 6-2 win at No. 1.

Omaha went up 2-0 after Natalie Lorentz won her match 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3. Saint Louis was able to even it up at 2-2, but a big victory by Lillian Tiemeyer (7-5, 7-5) put Omaha back ahead. Gallegos went on to clinch the match point for Omaha at No. 1 with a 7-5, 6-4 win. The Mavericks gained their fifth point with a 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 win by Savanna Crowell at No. 5.

Action continues tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. against Northern Illinois at Miracle Hill Tennis Center. The Mavericks aim for their second-straight weekend sweep as fans can visit OMavs.com for more information.
