OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha women's soccer head coach
Tim Walters announced the addition of six players to the Maverick program for 2021.
"We're very happy to bring in this talented group of players to join our team in 2021," said Walters. "Each player brings a little something different that helps make our team better. We love the high character, commitment and work rate of this group and can't wait to get started with them in Omaha."
Three players hail from Omaha while Texas, Colorado and Denmark are also represented in this year's class.

Sena Ahovissi | Defender | Omaha, Neb. | Sporting Omaha FC
Ahovissi began her high school career at Millard North with all-state honorable mention accolades as a freshman and sophomore. As a freshman, she helped her team to a 17-3 record while scoring the game-winning goal in the state championship match. Ahovissi was a five-time state champion playing club soccer with Sporting Omaha FC and advanced to the regional tournament four times and national tournament in 2017.
Walters' Words: "Sena is super quick wide player who does a great job getting forward out of the back. She can create chances at one end and then has the ability to be a great defender in transition. She is such a hard worker and we are hoping she can add another dimension to our team on both sides of the ball in 2021."
Cece Behrens | Midfielder | Omaha, Neb. | Sporting Omaha FC
Behrens competes in soccer and basketball at Omaha Skutt Catholic High School. She was a two-time River Cities all-conference selection and an all-state honoree in two years. As a sophomore, Behrens was named second-team Super State. She was a five-time state cup champion and earned regional and national appearances while playing with Sporting Omaha FC.
Walters' Words: "Cece is an aggressive two-way midfielder who can also slot in at centerback. We are looking forward to adding her tenacity and range of passing to the middle of the field in the fall. She can be a threat on set pieces of both sides of the field and we are thrilled she decided to stay in Omaha."
Reagan Bourgeois | Midfielder | Houston, Texas | Albion Hurricanes FC
Bourgeois competes in soccer at Cypress Woods High School while playing club soccer with Albion Hurricanes FC. She helped Cypress Woods to the regional quarterfinals as a district, bi-district and area champion with a 26-2-1 record. Bourgeois was named first-team all-district and first-team all-state as a junior while leading her team to a district championship with a 16-3-2 record as a sophomore. She was named team MVP of her club team in 2018 and led them to the ECNL national playoffs in 2019 and 2020.
Walter's Words: "Reagan is a very intelligent central midfielder with very good feet and range of passing. She is a player who does such a good job of retaining the ball under pressure to keep possession for her team and can also add goals from the midfield. We are excited to have her join us from a very good Albion program in Houston."
Mia Reedtz Olesen | Goalkeeper | Stensballe, Denmark | Kolding Club
Reedtz Olesen made her debut in the Danish Elitedivisionen as a 17-year old and has gone on to make 15 first-team appearances with Kolding Q, which currently resides in fourth place in the top Danish league. As a member of the U-16 National Team, she played in three matches against Germany, Netherlands and Sweden. Reedtz Olesen helped her team to a bronze medal and two silver medals while playing in the U-18 Danish Championships. She ended her career with Kolding Club by winning the U-18 Danish Cup gold medal in 2019.
Walters' Words: "Mia has many attributes I enjoy in a goalkeeper. She has very good feet, is brave and has great command for her area. We love her mentality and the professionalism she trains with and are very excited to have her join our goalkeeper group in January."
Marissa Gohr | Forward | Omaha, Neb. | Elite Girls Academy
Gohr joins the Mavericks after one season at Kansas State, appearing in four matches for the Wildcats. She helped Elkhorn South to the 2019 Class B state title and led the team to a 52-10 overall record in three seasons. Gohr totaled 46 goals and 21 assists, including a career-best 20 goals and 11 assists in 2018. She was a two-time first-team all-state selection and two-time All-Nebraska second team honoree while also earning 2019 Super State second team accolades.
Walters' Words: "We are very excited to have Marissa back in Omaha to continue her college career. She is a very quick, dynamic attacking player who can create chances for her teammates. She works very hard on both sides of the ball and has played a lot of minutes with a lot of players on our team. We can't wait to add her to training in January and have her begin competing in August."
Kayla Futakami | Forward | Northglenn, Colo. | SC Del Sol
Futakami spent three summers participating in FC Barcelona training camps in Spain. She earned first-team all-league and MaxPreps second-team all-state honors at StarGate Charter School. Futakami led Colorado high school girls soccer with 107 points and 50 goals as a sophomore. She appeared in one game as a junior, scoring a hat trick before the season was cut short due to COVID-19 in the spring of 2020.
Walters' Words: "A lot of work was put in by Coach Farrell to find Kayla and get her signed to Omaha. Kayla is a fantastically talented player on the ball, with an excellent left foot. She has great vision and is very dangerous in the final third. She has great work rate and a huge desire to be the best she can be. I can't wait to see her excel in Omaha."
