BERKELEY, Calif. – The Omaha men's soccer team fell 1-0 to Cal in the season opener on Friday night in Berkeley, Calif.

• Omaha tallied the first offensive threat of the match when Miguel Gomez's shot was sent back by a team save in the 13^th minute.
• Cal scored the lone goal of the match when Alonzo Del Mundo dished to Paolo Carrillo-Weisenburger for the score in the 23^rd minute.
• The Golden Bear defense denied the Omaha offense of attempting a shot in the final 22 minutes of the first half.
• Omaha's Ugo Tritz denied the pair of Cal attempts in stretching the lead to 2-0 in the 55^th and 58^th minutes of the match.
• The Mavericks drew a foul and yellow card on Cal's goalkeeper that drew a penalty kick attempt to tie the game in the 78^th minute.
• The Golden Bears rejected Martin Vey's penalty kick attempt and the score remained 1-0 with 12 minutes to play.
