Omaha Visits UNI Friday, Hosts No. 20 Memphis Sunday

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha women's soccer team visits UNI on Friday and returns home to host No. 20 Memphis on Sunday. Friday's match begins at 6 p.m. in Waterloo, Iowa, and Sunday's match kicks off at noon at Caniglia Field.

Scouting the UNI Panthers
The UNI Panthers are 1-1-0 on the season after splitting the season-opening weekend with Chicago State and Iowa. UNI began with a 5-0 home victory before falling 6-1 on the road to the Hawkeyes.
 
Through two matches, the Panthers have scored six goals. UNI has taken nine shots per match with 61.1 percent of those on target. Five different players have scored goals for the Panthers this season.
 
The UNI defense has allowed six goals this year while recording one shutout in two matches. Panther opponents have tallied 19 shots per game, including nine shots on goal per match. Goalkeeper Anna Kaiser is 1-1-0 on the season with 11 saves, a .647 save percentage and 3.00 goals-against average.
 
Panthers to Watch
No. 9 Jordyn Rolli – leads the Panthers with five points, two goals and an assist in two starts.
No. 3 Sydney Hayden – tied for second on team with three points, a goal and an assist in 145 minutes.
No. 20 Madalyn Germann – tied for second on team with three points, a goal and an assist in 180 minutes.
 
Omaha vs. UNI
In five all-time meetings, the Mavericks and Panthers are locked in a 2-2-1 tie in the series. The Panthers garnered a 2-0 victory over Omaha in their last meeting on Aug. 25, 2017 in Omaha.
 
Scouting the Memphis Tigers
Memphis comes into the weekend 2-0-0 on the season and ranked 20th in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll. The Tigers picked up a 6-0 win vs. Little Rock and 3-1 victory vs. Ole Miss in the season-opening weekend. Prior to Sunday's match, Memphis plays at Kansas on Thursday, Aug. 29 in Lawrence, Kan.
 
The Tigers have scored eight goals on the season with three different players finding the back of the net. Memphis is shooting 21 shots per game with 52.4 percent of those on goal. Three different Tigers have scored this season while Memphis has totaled six assists.
 
The Memphis defense has allowed only a goal in two contest this season. Tiger opponents have recorded four shots per contest, including 1.5 shots on goal per match. Goalkeeper Elizabeth Moberg is 1-0-0 in two starts with a save, a .500 save percentage and 0.82 goals-against average. Rachel Ashworth Shepard has a 1-0-0 record with a save, a 1.000 save percentage and 0.00 goals-against average in two appearances.
 
Tigers to Watch
No. 17 Clarissa Larisey – ranks second nationally with four goals on the season.
No. 12 Tanya Boychuk – second on the team in goals (three) and points (six) in 154 minutes.
No. 26 Stasia Mallin – leads the team with a pair of assists in 161 minutes of play this season.
 
Omaha vs. Memphis
Memphis leads the all-time series with the Mavericks, 1-0. The Tigers won a 4-0 decision over Omaha on Aug. 16, 2018 in Memphis, Tenn.
 
Looking Ahead
The Mavericks host Ball State on Friday, Sept. 6 at 5:30 p.m. at Caniglia Field before venturing to Ames, Iowa, to face Iowa State on Sunday, Sept. 8 at 2 p.m.
