OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha baseball team makes a quick trip down the road to in-town rival Creighton this Tuesday, May 14, at 11 a.m. The Mavericks and Bluejays will square for the second time this season and the first at TD Ameritrade Park.
LEADING OFF
• In the last meeting at Werner Park, the Mavericks fell 6-2 to the Bluejays.

Parker Smejkal leads the team with a .350 batting average that ranks second in The Summit League. He also leads the conference with a .500 on-base percentage that ranks 19th in the country.

Richie Holetz will make his second-career start on the mound for the Mavericks.
• Omaha's .982 fielding percentage ranks second in the country behind Xavier's .984.
• The Mavericks are trying to erase a recent skid, as the team has dropped seven of its last 10.
• Omaha still sits in first place for The Summit League standings with a 1.5 game lead over second-place South Dakota State.

SCOUTING CREIGHTON
Creighton sits at 31-11 overall and posts an 11-4 mark in the BIG EAST, which is second in the conference. The Bluejays' Jake Holton leads the team with a .410 batting average and 45 RBI. A trio of Creighton players round out the .300-plus batting average club in Jackson Berney (.333), Parker Upton (.301) and Isaac Collins (.301). Head coach Ed Servais is in his 16th season with a 548-318-1 all-time record at the school. Omaha trails the all-time series 63-55 against Creighton.
LOOKING AHEAD
The Mavericks head into the weekend with a shot at The Summit League regular season championship and the No. 1 seed in the tournament with a three-game series against Oral Roberts May 16-18.
